About X-HIST

X-ray based 3D histology provides volumetric information on tissue architecture while preserving spatial relationships that are difficult to capture from conventional two-dimensional sections alone.

Established in 2026 by Professor Greet Kerckhofs, X-HIST provides a common international forum for this growing field and supports communication between methodological, biological, and clinical communities.

Scope

The Society welcomes work spanning X-ray microscopy and tomography, contrast-enhanced imaging, phase-contrast methods, correlative histology, quantitative image analysis, validation, standardization, and translational applications.
